Latest Information
Woking offers a popular mix of convenient shopping, relaxing countryside, special events and entertainment throughout the year.  The town has excellent transport links by road and rail, with a fast, direct mainline rail service to London Waterloo (just 30 minutes away) and fast, regular services to the coast and the South West.

In 2008, Woking Borough Council was jointly successful with Surrey County Council in securing £1.82 million from Cycling England to be spent on improving cycling facilities in the area, resulting in Woking becoming one of only ten towns, plus one city, to win the title of Cycling Town for the next three years.

The Cycle Woking project’s top priorities include further improvement of the Woking Cycle Network, better cycle storage at the railway stations, and upgrading of the Basingstoke Canal towpath to provide another high quality cycling route in the Borough.

It also hopes to continue encourage more local people to get on their bikes and leave their cars at home, fostering the improved health and well-being of local people and helping to reduce congestion on the Borough's busy roads.

The Tour Series Woking, and the community races that will precede the main race on the day, will enable everyone to have a go at cycling and get involved in this exciting event.  Woking looks forward to welcoming you to the 2010 Halford Tour Series as the final Round is staged on June 24th.
