Hannah Barnes, the 2013 Johnson Health Tech GP Series Champion, is moving to the USA for 2014, having signed for the UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team.

It was announced late last week that Barnes will join an all-star line-up for UnitedHealthcare in 2014, alongside former British Road Race Champion Sharon Laws.

Barnes steps up having raced, to much success, with the MG Maxifuel team in the UK during 2013.  In addition to winning three rounds and the overall of the Johnson Health Tech GP Series during May and June, Barnes also won The Tour of Britain supporting Johnson Health Tech Westminster GP in September and took the National Series season long title and the National Criterium Championships.

High profile battles with Olympian Laura Trott also saw Barnes take victory at the IG London Nocturne and second place in the Prudential RideLondon Grand Prix in August.

UnitedHealthcare need no introduction to British fans, having ridden the men's Tour of Britain for the past three editions, while in addition to Laws there will be a further link to home at the team with DS Rachel Heal being British.

Fans of the Johnson Health Tech GP Series may also note two more familiar names in the line-up, which can be found here, as Ruth Winder and Coryn Rivera both ride who performed strongly in the 2012 and 2013 Series' respectively, while from the international stage 2013 Giro Rosa winner Mara Abbott is also a teammate.

"I just can’t wait to get out there" said Hannah Barnes, speaking to VeloUK. "I can’t get over how organised the team are. I’ll have an email every day saying what is happening. It’s just a great set up especially having the men’s team as well.”
