There’s all to play for in the 2018 OVO Energy Tour Series as it enters its final week, with rounds in Stevenage, Wembley Park and Salisbury in the space of four days guaranteed to have a huge impact on the title race in both our men’s and women’s events.

The possibility of having first-time champions in both remains a possibility, especially in the women’s series. Team Breeze – who have worn the OVO Energy Green Jerseys since our Redditch opener on 10 May – lead Nikki Juniper’s NJC-Biemme-Echelon squad by three points going into Bank Holiday Monday’s Stevenage round. Neither have previously claimed the overall title.

Canyon Eisberg – who finished third overall in 2017 under their BIKE Channel Canyon guise – sit in the same position this year after six rounds, but are just three points behind leaders Madison Genesis. Defending champions JLT Condor also trail Madison – our 2015 overall winners – by three after winning Saturday’s round in Aberystwyth.

The men’s series has never been this close at the top of the leaderboard at this stage since 2010, when just five points ended up separating the leading three teams come the Grand Final, which that year took place in Woking.

On Thursday (31 May) Salisbury will host the first ever Wiltshire round of the OVO Energy Tour Series, with our Grand Final there offering the Cathedral City a chance to show to the world that it is open for business following recent events.

Before then, the men’s squads will tackle a Stevenage double-header, comprising a team time trial and criterium. Tuesday brings a return to Wembley Park, which first hosted the series in 2017. However, the challenge facing Britain’s best male and female riders at London’s newest creative district is even tougher this time around, with our 1.8-kilometre circuit including a 200-metre climb up that takes them up to the iconic Wembley Stadium.
