Woking’s Johnson Health Tech Grand Prix Series round will have mixed memories for leader Hannah Barnes.

The MG Maxifuel rider crashed early on in Round Four at Woking while on the attack, going down heavily at the top corner of the circuit in this amazing sequence of photos captured by Tour Series spectator David Child.

Barnes was back up and racing and went on to claim her third Johnson Health Tech Grand Prix Series win in a row, putting her within touching distance of the title.  This all despite needing medical attention post-race before the podium ceremony, going on to receive hospital attention and nine stitches in her chin.

We’re happy to report that Hannah’s ok and is likely to be back in action at Aylsham, Norfolk on Thursday evening in the final round of the Johnson Health Tech Grand Prix Series.

Amazingly Hannah remounted and rejoined the main field, going on to contest the remainder of the race, before going on the attack to win in Woking, outsprinting Roxanne Fournier before being joined on the podium by her MG Maxifuel teammates, who lead the team standings, as the below images from Pearl Izumi Tour Series Official Photographer Larry Hickmott of VeloUK show.
