Amber Harris and George Francis from Peartree Spring Primary School will present their personally designed jerseys to the men and women’s winners of the Stevenage Pearl Izumi Tour round.

Stevenage Borough Council asked schoolchildren around the town to design a jersey that they will present to the winning male and female riders at the Stevenage event next month. Amber and George beat a number of entries to the prize and will stand on the winner’s podium to present their jerseys made by Pro Vision Clothing to the race victors on Monday 6 June.

Stevenage Mayor, Councillor Professor Howard Burrell MA, B.Mus. FRSA, Hon.FUH joined Amber, 9, and George, 9, at their school to present them with their own jerseys that feature their winning designs.

Stevenage Mayor, Cllr Howard Burrell said: “Congratulations to George and Amber for their winning designs. They fought off stiff competition from all the entries we received and I’m sure the stage winners will be equally impressed by their designs. It’s a pleasure to be able to show George and Amber their designs today and I’m sure they will look forward to presenting their jerseys to the winners.”
