To celebrate the arrival of the Pearl Izumi Tour Series next month, Visit Isle of Wight have created this special promo video to promote not just the race itself, but the range of other fantastic ways to enjoy cycling on Bicycle Island.

Thursday 14 May not only sees Round One of the unique team based Series getting underway, but for the first time ever we’ll be visiting Ryde and the Isle of Wight.

Just a short hop across the Solent by ferry from Portsmouth with Wightlink offering a 20-minute service from Gunwharf Quays, where the UK’s only Pearl Izumi outlet store is based.

To find out about how to travel to Ryde with Wightlink, whether on foot, by bike or in your car, please click here.

You can also travel direct to Ryde in just 10-minutes by Hovertravel from Portsmouth, with the terminal adjacent to the Start/Finish line, or travel from Southampton with Red Funnel ferries.

Services on all routes also run into the evening, making it possible to make watching the Pearl Izumi Tour Series part of a longer trip, or a day jaunt to Ryde.

There will be activities on the Ryde circuit all afternoon, including the opening team time trial at 1500 and a Cat 2/3 support race at 1745, with the main race starting at 1930.  You can view the Ryde circuit map here.
