It was announced on Monday 20 February that the Tour Series would take a one year break in 2023 (read more here).

As a result, the previously announced host city of Wrexham will step across to host the Tour of Britain, the UK’s leading cycle race, in September 2023.

Councillor Nigel Williams, Wrexham Council’s Lead Member for Economy, said: “Although it’s sad to hear that The Tour Series won’t be taking place this year, it’s been confirmed that Wrexham will host part of the Tour of Britain event in September, which is probably the most prestigious cycling event in the UK.

“That’s wonderful news and something that will help further increase Wrexham’s profile on the national and international stage. It’s hugely exciting, and we expect more details to be shared in the coming months.”
